Evanston’s chapter of DECA participates in a lot of the high school activities, including making a float for the homecoming parade to support the football team. Every year DECA puts out an Activities Calendar which businesses around the community sponsor. DECA students go around and collect money from businesses for this year-round calendar. The fall edition has all the fall sports like football, girls swimming, cross country, golf and volleyball. The winter edition has basketball, wrestling and boys swimming. The spring edition has golf, soccer, and track. All editions include band activities and DECA conferences.

Chapter Advisor Cheryl Cranford has been the advisor for DECA for thirty years. She graduated from Green River High School and was an active member in their DECA chapter. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Distributive Education and in 2001 she received her master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah. Ms. Cranford is the only advisor in Evanston and she juggles DECA chapter management with the teaching of business computer classes.
